  • Section 5: Describe adverse side effects of medication on oral health.

Unit 2: Know how to support an individual to maintain good oral health.

  • Section 1: Describe how to assess oral health
  • Section 2: Describe how to support an individual with tooth brushing
  • Section 3: Describe how to provide advice and support to an individual on care for dentures
  • Section 4: Explain the use of appropriate equipment to maintain good oral health
  • Section 5: Explain the importance of oral health check ups
  • Section 6: Explain the effects of a poor diet on oral health.

Unit 3: Understand the effects of oral health on wellbeing.

  • Section 1: Describe oral health problems and how they might impact on an individual’s wellbeing
  • Section 2: Describe measures that can be taken to minimise the effects of oral health problems on an individual’s well-being.

Unit 4: Know the importance of including oral health in care plans and records.

  • Section 1: Describe the importance of reporting and recording issues relating to oral health
  • Section 2: Explain how the staff training about oral health can support individual health care plans
